- Dr_Iris_BRamat Gan, Israel1,324 contributionsThis is a MUST place to visit once in Athens. The audio guide is free and very worthwhile . There are usually long lines for tickets so it’s better to get tickets on line in advance .Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matt A4 contributionsAlthough not named as one by them, this magnificent testimony to the ancient world and it's vast reaching impact deserves a spot on this list.
Stunningly situated on it's outcrop, the monument is imposing even against the backdrop of modern Athens.
With a historical legacy that cannot be underestimated, the experience is certainly improved on a guided tour, where you are given a window into the fascinating history behind it, and how it's architecture and the beliefs and inventions creators have impacted the entire world in the mellenia since it's construction.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We saw so many people burnt to a crisp and even got burnt ourselves despite using sunscreen. The sun is no joke here. The pink sand isn't as pink everywhere as social media portrays it to be -- but it's there! The water was clear and beautiful.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GAR243 contributionsThis lovely neighbourhood is the nicest area in Athens. Some of the restaurants and shops are overpriced, so watch out for thatWritten March 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- OldjackGreater Melbourne, Australia27,929 contributionsThe smal village of Lindos is well worth a day trip from Rhodes. Apart from the Acropolis the town itself is interesting, with small streets , cafes, shops and loads of people.Written January 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Weather cooperating, the stunning combination of insane rock formations and beautiful monasteries makes this like no other place on Earth!Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Which was a shame. But it was good to explore for an hour or soWritten March 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Louise BSydney, Australia11 contributionsWe visited in March so it was quiet. The rooms were easy to navigate with clear information (English and Greek) and layout. We had visited the Knossos Palace site earlier in the day and hence benefited from having some understanding of the size (large!) and complexity of the site - many not all) of the artefacts on display were from Knossos
We were surprised and impressed by the range of Cycladic art display. The Minoan civilisation artefacts were quite incredible.
The fresco room was one of the highlights but all of it was impressive. Do not miss this! Quite one of the best archaeological museums we have ever visited.Written March 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Irpino MontecalvoCrete, Greece7 contributionsAmazing ! An accumulation of feelings throw you in another world. From all the Old Towns in Crete , Rethymno's Palia Poli(The Old Town) is special and this is the merit of it's people who live here and of authorities which preserved this real piece of history. You can feel it only walking on it's streets, not only the commercial ones!
Some people loves Chania, some people loves Heraklion, but from my oppinion, Rethymno is something else in all this commercial world! Feel it ! It's old, but still very young and beautiful!Written February 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We got a taxi from the hotel which dropped us virtually at the top..saved the 7 euros for the railway.
Nice little church on the top.
Well worth the trip.Written February 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
